Bring more young people into play.
Help pupils discover squash, then give them a realistic next step at a nearby venue. We are developing a UK-first school-to-venue approach.
Start where the school is
An introductory session does not always need a squash court. Existing governing-body resources can help teachers and coaches introduce movement and racket skills, before a visit to a suitable facility.
In England, explore England Squash’s school resources. In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, plan with the relevant local and home-nation context. Programmes are agreed with each school and the responsible delivery partners.
A proposed pilot, built around repeat play
- One suitable venue, two nearby schools and an appropriate coach.
- Six weeks of repeated sessions, with an indoor or weather fallback.
- A family or community follow-on session and a route to ongoing play.
- A costed plan agreed by the host, schools and any sponsor before launch.
Practical details matter
- Teacher agreement, age-appropriate activities and suitable equipment.
- Transport, cost, supervision, consent and emergency arrangements.
- Responsible providers verifying safeguarding, coaching, insurance and other checks.
- Schools and providers retaining identifiable pupil data; aggregated reporting for the programme.
- Clear cancellation arrangements and someone responsible for each session.
Support access with evidence
A sponsor can help fund equipment, transport or supervised access hours. Report attendance, repeat participation and sessions delivered. These are useful participation outcomes, not proof of clinical or academic improvement.
We welcome conversations with schools, hosts and sponsors interested in shaping the first local pilot.
